SQUID Lite is designed for those TV Stations that do not need the advanced characteristics of SQUID Air/Cable or have a low budget.
They have some reduced functions and are installed in only one working position; this allows the performance of the whole operation by only one person. It allows ingestion and broadcasting simultaneously.

Player

Player:
It controls the video Engine server playback channel. It allows a secure and dynamic operation to modify in real time the playlists even during playback.

		Multiformat Playlist: It enables the playback of clip sequences of different format (DV25 and MPEG2 IBP).
		Playout modification even during Playback: The Playlist may be easily modified even during its playback; this enables a smooth and reliable operation.
		Seek Function: Using this function you can start a clip playback in any point. For example, In case the broadcasting is interrupted, you can continue the film from any point.
		Graphic Caption (Optional) It has the controls to manage the preset graphic, to add new graphic or modify variable texts (such as temperature, humidity, etc.).

Scheduler

Scheduler:
It is the Guidelines and Audit tool in the Station. Based on a strong SQL database, this tool has all the applications which are necessary within the commercial sectors for the creation of advertising. It can be directly connected to the Traffic or Invoicing systems directly importing and exporting the corresponding data.

		SQL Server database with programmed backup: All the handling of the system is based on a centralized SQL Server Database. In order to assure the integrity of the data, you can alternatively use a system with automatic backup.
		Programmed Pauses: It allows the programming of interruptions (Pauses) in a reproduction list. This enables a better management of the advertisements or clips in live events.
		Broadcasting reports: These reports allow the control of the internal performance of the Station and generate broadcasting certifications for the Invoicing area.
		Preliminary view of clips: It allows the visualization in the user’s interface of any clip available in the Server.
		24-hour Guideline Mode (Optional) It allows the unattended stations to program the complete broadcasting with tools that show the differences between the determined time schedules and the total time of the clips.

Media Manager:
User-friendly interface which captures audio and video to SQUID systems. It allows the ingestion of clips from VHS players or the import and conversion of video files into different formats. It includes the M.A.M. (Media Asset Management) functions and clip filing. They can be installed in any number and disposition according to the operative needs.

		Adjustments of audio and video levels: It allows the visualization and adjustment of audio and video levels in order to normalize them prior to the capture.
		Selection of input device: It enables the identification and selection of the input device from where the capture is made. This avoids connection and disconnection of the devises to the system.
		Import of files: It allows the import of files in WMV, DV25, MPEG2 IBP or QuickTime format to incorporate them into the system.
		Export of files : It allows the export of files in WMV, DV25, MPEG2 IBP or QuickTime format to use them inside or outside the SQUID workflow.
		Background export process: The codification and export of clips is conducted on a using a background process in a batch type system. This allows the user to continue with the capture and selection processes of clips without waiting for the codification time.

Engine is the audio and video server of the SQUID systems. It is available in mono or multi-channel settings with different redundancy levels to guarantee a reliable performance.

		Audio and Video Output: It depends on the quoted hardware. They generally have a compound video and Y/C components (YUV). The SDI digital outputs are optional. The audio outputs are unbalanced stereo, embedded SDI and optional AES/EBU.
		PAL/NTSC: The SD transmissions can be set in PAL or NTSC during the installation.

SQUID Lite is absolutely compatible with the SQUID AsRun and SQUID News witness recording solutions. It is also possible to transparently migrate to SQUID Air settings from a SQUID Lite system without losing the value of the initial inversion.
